By Tisha Diaz Most of us girls have been there and done that. It's a few weeks before prom, we've seen that sexy dress we want to wear but don't quite fit in, and we panic. We want to lose weight before the prom fast! So, what do we do? For days we literally go hungry, drink just water and munch on lettuce like a deer in the backyard. We suddenly remember that gym membership and jump on the treadmill for hours every day. After a few days we're completely pooped, look like a slightly overweight ghost, and snap at everyone because we're cranky, hungry, and that darn dress is still a size or two too small. Okay, we figure, this isn't working. Next we jump on the Internet and find all those quick weight loss solutions. You know, the ones that have you run on that darn treadmill for hours wearing a plastic bag, drink herbal tea till you want to gag, or pop pills that wind up your metabolism like a coiled spring. It's tempting at this point in time, isn't it? Prom is getting closer every day! Listen girl, just don't do it. The risks to your health and wellbeing just simply are too great to try to lose weight fast before the prom. One pound of fat equals roughly 4,000 calories. It is impossible to do enough exercise, eat little enough without dying from starvation, or increase your metabolism enough to burn that number of calories in a short period of time. Remember, you need to burn those calories in addition to the calories you need to stay alive. The best you can aim for in terms of realistic fat burning is around one pound per week. To do that, you need to eat sensibly to stay healthy, do moderate exercise, and closely watch your calorie intake. Buy that dress in a number that fits you. Then be creative and add a few extras or accessories to hide what you don't like. You know, use those little secret tricks that just us girls know. Then go out, have a blast and forget about how to lose weight fast before the prom. Tisha Diaz recommends this fat loss and weight control program that will help you get rid of those excess pounds and make you slim and trim. Religion
By Aaron Schwartz The paper analyzes Christian concept of love on the basis of Paul Ramseys work Basic Christian Ethics. At the beginning the general information and comparison of Christian love to other concepts of love are given. Then it is traced how love is interpreted by Paul Ramsey and its entity is revealed. And finally, an attempt to extrapolate the concept of Christian love to the modern society is made and its vague perspectives conclude the paper. Introduction Human society was always characterized by a wide variety of views, particularly on such concepts as ethics, love, death, etc. These concepts remain actual nowadays and they are even more difficult to define and to make them universal for different societies. Traditionally western societies were characterized by the domination of Christian views which could be treated as universal to a certain extent. Naturally, they did not remain rigorous, they gradually evaluated but basic principles remained practically unchangeable though there were different interpretations and views on one and the same problem or concept. One of such conceptual things is the notion of love and Christian views on love. In the 20th century, a lot of arguments were hold on the concept of Christian love, different specialists suggested different interpretations, even those who were not big specialists in Christianity. At this respect, particularly interesting for further study seems to be the work of Paul Ramsey, namely his Basic Christian Ethics, in which he discusses Christian love in details and thoroughly analyze it in the context of the Christian religion. Naturally, Christian concept differs significantly from views of other religions or philosophical schools but it still pretends to become universal due to the fact that Christianity is widely spread through out the world and is the basis for western culture and philosophy that nowadays dominates in the world and in the future this trend may be even stronger than it has ever been before. This article will basically focus on Paul Ramsey interpretation of love in the Christian religion, its aspects and entity. Christian love compared to other human loves From the very beginning it is necessary to underline that different human societies, different cultures even different individuals have different views and understanding of the concept of love. It is particularly important to realize what Christian love really means because it is one of the basic concepts of Christianity at large. At this respect, Paul Ramseys Basic Christian Ethics is very helpful for it reveals the entity of Christian love in relatively modern interpretation of a person who is a representative of the 20th century that is to a certain extent revolutionary period in human history and in relation of people to love. However, even within Christianity there is no consensus, no universal agreement about Christian love. For instance, there were Christian ethicists, basically protestants that created a so-called Agapeism and they supported the idea of authentic Christian love. On the other hand, they had some opponents, and Paul Ramsey was one of them, who disagreed with the concept of authentic Christian love. Actually, they conceived of authentically Christian love or agape as fundamentally other directed and free of egocentric self-love. (Niebuhr 1992:163). At the same time, according to Paul Ramsey, Christian love is basically self-giving and it is oriented entirely toward help to other people and that all people should live peacefully and love each other. Naturally, such attitude to love presuppose a persons readiness to sacrifice himself or herself for interests of other people or for the interests of the whole community a person lives in. it means that unlike some other individualistic concepts of love, Christian love, according to Paul Ramsey, is societal and oriented on neighbors and their well-being. However, critics indicate that the readiness for self-sacrifice is not love itself but it is simply demonstration of love in probably its extreme point. Thus, it is obvious that among different views on love there may exist different concepts of love and all of them have their own particular traits. At the same time, Christian love may also be understood differently, and it is extremely important to analyze these views in order to find the general concept. Probably, Paul Ramseys study could help to understand one of the possible interpretations of concepts of love but it demands a more detailed analysis of his views that would be done in the next chapter of the paper. Christian love as it is seen by Paul Ramsey As it has already been said Paul Ramsey supports the idea that Christian love is not self-oriented love but on the contrary Christian love in its large sense means a persons readiness to scarify for the sake of other people as it has once done Jesus who died for all human beings and their well-being and salvage. So, he considers that Christian ethics denies that self-love is more preferable or even admissible for good Christians. On the contrary he considers self-love as idolatry. It means that in his interpretation Christian love presuppose love that is oriented on other people or as Jesus said people should love their neighbors. Actually, this idea originates form the Mosaic laws and it was further developed in the New Testament. So, it may be said that such views on love are traditional and have deep historical roots in the Christian religion. Actually, such interpretation and attitude toward love was quite revolutionary because basically there were a bit individualistic views and philosophy that dominated in other religions and cultures. Moreover, it was traditional to support quite negative attitude to representatives of other communities for instance. In order to understand this attitude it is necessary to analyze the period when the Christian concept of love was developed and formulated. In the ancient world as well as later until the present moment it was a norm when hate was a basis of upbringing, namely hate to enemies of a certain clan, or even nation. So, Christian love aimed at the victory of love over the enemies hatred through the love of Jesus Christ alone. (Hershberger 1985:35). On the individual level the situation was practically the same. Individual interests were practically always and everywhere higher and more significant then interests of other people. Naturally, Christian appeal to love neighbors was if not extraordinary than a bit unusual because it suggested to an individual to scarify his or her interests and care about other people even those whom the individual did not know. To a certain extent, Christian concept of love was even revolutionary because it made people treat people around them differently. It was quite innovative idea, and very humanistic one by the way, because it suggested a new philosophy and ideology. According to Christian views and Christian love people could live peacefully in harmony with their neighbors and with their own selves. It also suggested a new view on the role of individual in the community. Despite it decreased individual interests but, on the other hand, Christianity increased the role of an individual. It sounds a bit paradoxically but still it is true because the concept of Christian love presuppose that all people through mutual love will help each other and care about interests of each other rather than about individual interests. Furthermore, according to Paul Ramsey, Christian conception of love is characterized by a very critical interpretation and attitude to self while collective interests, i.e. the interests of the society and all of its members are highly valued as the most precious things. He estimates that Christian ethics encourages neighbor-oriented love that means that every Christian should care about others in first turn and only then about themselves. Paul Ramsey in Basic Christian Ethics supports such a position and states on the ground of criticism of self-love and egocentrism. As an alternative to self-love he suggested the concept of disinterested love. By the way, this concept is supported by many other specialists in Christian ethics, such as Hershberger. According to them, the Christian understanding of self as socially constituted and corporately united stands against all atomistic and anarchic estimates of selfhood. As a result self-love in the Christian tradition is not honored, on the contrary, Christian understanding should incline Christians to think and act with global and neighborly interests that moderate individual ones. Consequently, it is possible to say that Christian concept of love differs significantly from what is now traditionally understood by love. Quite interesting seems to be Paul Ramsey view on the relation of love and justice. For instance, he states that the Bible knows nothing, or little, of any conflict between justice and love. (Ramsey 1950:5). But at the same time he estimates that love transforms justice and the social and legal system is moved from below by pressures, and justice is usually found among the jar of opposing forces and between contending factions. (Ramsey 1961:47). Also it has to be said that Paul Ramsey is a proponent of permeability of justice to charity and he concedes a kind of priority for justice in normal, sinful society. Credit Card Debt Management - Way to Lessen Your Worst Debts
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Natasha_Anderson]Natasha Anderson Though any debt is worrisome for any person but credit card debts are considered as worst. This is because credit cards come at very higher interest rates and if timely payment is not made the companies charge even higher interest and penalties. So credit card debts accumulate fast and become unbearable. Hence the need for credit card debt management for a larger section of population is gaining importance. As has been mentions credit cards come at very high interest rate. When credit card debts pile-up, this high interest rate is what the credit card holder is always worrying about. All he wants is to get rid of the high interest rate debts. But often a credit card holder is unable to solve the problem on his own. And therefore credit card debt management service providers come in the picture. These companies make all efforts to rescue out of debts. They have many tools and experience for lessening your credit card burden. Credit card debt management service providers can be approached on their websites and after you applied for enrolling your name for a fee these companies contact you immediately for taking stock of your debts. First of all they calculate debts including interest and arrive at an amount that you would be paying in coming years. Then they assess your present financial repaying capacity. Credit card debt management companies then approach your creditor with a repayment plan. The plan includes a request for reducing interest rate. But if you are in a better position of paying debts in full, then a negotiation for reduced debt amount can take place. Usually these measures work well as creditors are more interested in getting back the amounts rather than suing the credit card holder who is their customer. If these measures are insufficient in case of huge debts, then credit card debt management companies suggest you for taking a consolidation loan. A consolidation loan merges all credit card debts in one new loan of lower interest rate. You can pay off all high interest rate credit card debts immediately through consolidation loan which comes at lower interest rate when a security of the loan is provided to the new lender. Consolidation loan can easily be repaid in 5 to 25 years and in larger monthly installments. After you have lessened the debt burden, make sure that you never fall in credit card debts again. Reduce the number of credit cards in use and instead use debit card for controlling spending habits. Make a budget and restrict your self to it so that you escape excessive spending of unnecessary items. There may be more technique of managing credit card debts but ensure that you adopt them whole heartedly. While availing services of credit card debt management companies see that the company is experienced one and has skill for the job. After having herself gone through the ordeal of loan borrowing, Natasha Anderson understands the need for good quality loan advice. Employee Surveys
By Ross Bainbridge The steady growth and prospects of any company are to a great extent subject to the people working there. The survival and sustenance of the company in the market calls for adequate attention to different aspects concerning the employees. This entails proper understanding of the factors that not only ensures recruitment of skilful people but also their retention. In order to achieve this objective, companies undertake surveys. Given the availability of ample employment opportunities for skilled people, it becomes imperative for the companies to make sure that employees procured do not leave the organization. Attrition in any company leads to loss of revenue incurred in hiring and training of the personnel. So surveys help the companies to get a fair idea of employee satisfaction and their chances of providing continued service to the company. Surveys conducted may be employee commitment, employee recognition, employee motivation and last but not the least employee climate conditions prevailing in the company. The survey starts with preparation of questions related to employee satisfaction level with respect to infrastructure, salary structure, management policies and overall working conditions. The responses derived help to draw inferences as per the adequacy of the organizational system, current state of employee retention, and potential risks to employee retention and thereby strategies to be followed to rectify the loopholes and improve the current situation. Employee commitment surveys are ways of detecting the extent to which employees are committed to the company and the company's cause and also reasons that are major hurdles on the way of employee commitment .The feedback gathered leads to adoption of appropriate policies that enhance commitment level of the employees. Employee commitment to the organization is in turn dependant on the existence of motivating factors in the form of rewards. Such rewards can be monetary benefits, vote of thanks at a group meeting or individually, letter of commendation or a small-personalized gift. The surveys are done by making the employees fill out forms highlighting how they would like to be rewarded .The responses indicate problem areas that demotivate the employees and the adoption of the measures to rectify them accordingly. Employee climate surveys are used where the intention is to get the feedback of the employees about working conditions and also their receptivity to the proposed changes in the companies such as mergers, acquisitions, launch of new products or services and the relocation of the company. Employee surveys are tailor made for the organization and serve as potential tools for the employees to voice their concerns about staffing, salary, compensation, harmony among workers and other things related to them. It is also beneficial for the companies as it enables them to bring about improvement and gain a competitive edge. Surveys provides detailed information on Surveys, Paid Surveys, Online Surveys, Free Fun Surveys and more. Surveys is affiliated with Employee Exit Surveys. The 4 Critical Moments in the Buyer's Mind
By Robert Moment The key to understanding the how to sell anything is understanding what goes through a potential buyers mind. By tapping into their thought process, you unlock the secrets to selling them exactly what they want. Of course, since were all consumers in one way or another, this isnt as difficult as it sounds. In fact, once you examine the different types of shoppers out there, its easy to anticipate their needs and the critical moments in their minds as they decide on one product over another. First, then, it is essential to look at each of the types of shoppers, to get a better idea of the critical points in their decision making process: Economic Shopper: this is the kind of customer whose main focus is on the price of a product. Their main motivation is getting the most value for their moneyand often theyre willing to go to great distances to save. You can get these customers into your store with a sale, but will have to display generally low prices for good value if you want to keep them. Personalizing Shopper: often the most pleasant customers to work with, these are the kinds of people who enjoy shopping, and who enjoy interaction with sales staff. Customer service is their main motivation, and they know what they like. Ethical Shopper: these customers will avoid stores or companies for ethical or personal reasons. If your store contains products which they judge unethical, they simply wont shop there. Close communication with your suppliers and carefully choosing your stock will help you appeal to these very discerning shoppers. Apathetic Shopper: everyone knows someone like thisthese types of customers dislike shopping in general, and will often choose the most convenient retailer. Shopping can often be tiring and troublesome, so appeal to these kinds of customers with great customer service that gets them what they want and on their way quickly. From here, we can see that there are really four critical moments in any buyers mind that every retailer should keep in mind: The Initial Impression: this is where youll have the chance to win over shoppers of all kinds. Their initial impression of your business, your products is formed quickly, so make sure its a good one. Displays and space vary depending on the business, but always keep the customer in mind when designing or placing anything so as to make this first impression a good one. Price: for all types of shoppers, the price of an item or service is of the utmost importance. This doesnt necessarily mean that everyones out for a bargainthough sales and lower prices than your competitors never hurt. It does mean, however, that the price must reflect the value, and people must feel as though theyre getting good value for their money. Specific Features and Additional Information: Whats in it for me? is the age-old question that everyone asks before they spend their hard-earned money on anything. That means that any important information about the product or service must be easy for the customer to find, and any signage or sales people available should be put to good use to highlight features and bonuses. Service: especially when it comes to customers who dislike shopping, a key point in the decision making process is the service provided by retailers like you. Whether that means spending extra time with a chatty fellow, or getting a hurried young lady in and out quickly, going the extra mile when it comes to service means happy customers that come back to buy from you again. By understanding more about your buyers, youll find you have a great deal more success selling to them. No matter what kind of product or service you provide, a better rapport with your customersand their repeat businessbegins with a better grasp on just how they shop. Wedding Invitations' History
By Martin Karen One of the first considerations for a couple planning a wedding is the type of invitations they will use to inform their guests about the momentous occasion. However, how and when did this formal wedding invitation process start? The first type of wedding invitation was actually announced by word of mouth, before the days of printing and the Internet. During the 12 century, town criers would stand in the village square and announce weddings to everyone within earshot. A town crier got paid to stand on the corner and announce the daily news, much like news reporters on television today. As a result of the town crier's efforts, everyone within earshot was invited to share the wedding with the bride and groom imagine trying to get a head count for that event? The first written invitations were made during the Middle Ages of Europe, by religious monks. Because of the Plague, literacy rates were very low and only nobility and religious figures had the opportunity to learn to read and write. Wealthy nobility seeking to marry off their sons and daughters would pay incredible sums of money to monks to hand-craft wedding invitations to announce the special day. Monks were learned in the art of calligraphy and royalty appreciated this decorative skill. When the invitations were complete, they were delivered to the potential guests by a courier on horseback. During the Middle Ages, the coat of arms was also developed in response to the need to identify a person and this personal crest was often affixed to important papers, such as wedding invitations created by monks. By the 1600's, metal plate engraving was invented, which is the same process used today. As a result of metal plate engraving, fancy engraved invitations on paper became popular. After the process was completed, a sheet of paper would be placed on top of the engraving so that it would not smudge this is the same tissue you see left inside invitations today. During the 18th century, wedding invitations were also published in newspapers. In Wales, bidding letters were dispatched to let people know about upcoming weddings. Furthermore, the Indians actually used smoke signals coupled with a birch bark inscription to announce future nuptials. As literacy rates grew through during the Age of Enlightenment, more people were able to read and write. As a result, an increasing number of regular people began to send paper invitations to invite people to their wedding celebrations. Fine stationery was created in the 19th century because of the development of machines, which made sending paper wedding invitations even more popular. The postal system was also created and used for the delivery such invitations, along with personal couriers for those folks that felt the new mail system was unreliable. These methods of delivery encouraged the use of the double envelope to protect the invitation from being soiled or damaged en route. Although delivery methods today are cleaner and more reliable, the use of a double envelope has remained a tradition for formal wedding invitations. Today there are numerous ways to invite people to a wedding. Invitations can be engraved or use imitation engraving known as thermography, which is less expensive. Informal invitations can be done with offset printing, home computer printing or handwritten in calligraphy and beautiful penmanship. Personalized invitations are even created on blocks of chocolate, thick paper stock or other wedding-friendly media. Some people even send their wedding invitations over the Internet! Despite the many developments to wedding invitations over the centuries, the most popular and socially acceptable manner to invite guests is by using classic paper invitations that are carefully chosen the reflect the spirit of the event. The beauty of a traditional wedding invitation remains unsurpassed. For more information on weddings, go to the wedding blog. Childrens Playtime Party Fun
By Gail Leino Children love to have parties. Dont make them wait for a birthday to have a gathering of their friends, create an occasion. Set up a play date and make it a theme so they have lots of fun. A party supply store will have every character imaginable to choose from when deciding upon a theme. The paper products, decorations and favors can all coordinate under a character, color or idea. A party planner will help you with any questions you may have with your needs. Send out invitations to your guests. Make them addressed to the child itself so they get to open mail. Sometimes that is their favorite part of the whole deal! Include a picture of your child so that if they cant read, they will immediately know who its from anyway. The picture and an invitation usually mean a party in a childs mind! A childrens party will need decorations. Lots of colorful balloons and streamers to match your theme can be purchased from the party supply store. They will also have balloon weights, favor bags and trinkets to give away as prizes. If your childrens party involves lunch, make it simple. Most likely the kids will be too excited to eat anyway, so their favorites might entice them more. Chicken nuggets, fish sticks or regular old peanut butter and jelly make them run for the table the most. Add a handful of grapes or apple slices, and they are happy clans. Plan a couple of new games to try out. Use board games, hide and seek or puzzles. If they are playing well on their own with toys, you might just want to leave them alone and enjoy the break. If the other moms stick around, use the time to catch up on visiting. Mrs. Party... 14 Tips to Make Moving Day Easier
By Carole Pagan Its that time of year again for a lot of us. Here are some
tips to make your moving day less painful, both mentally
and physically. 1. Lighten the load. Dispose of as much as possible
before you start to pack. Donate to charity, have
a yard sale or throw out. 2. Use the same size boxes. They will be easier to
stack both while you are packing, and in the truck.
No more spending time trying to figure out how to
get all those different sized boxes stacked so they
wont fall over. 3. Use smaller boxes. Then you wont have big heavy
boxes that will wear you out fast. You, and your
moving team will be able to keep going without
struggling. 4. Use a good quality tape and tape gun. The couple
extra bucks will save you tons of frustration. 5. A couple of wardrobe boxes are always a good
idea. They keep your clothes clean and ready to
hang. Plus, you can throw boots, shoes, and
purses in the bottom. 6. Before wrapping your figures in newspaper, put
them in a plastic shopping bag. It will keep them
clean. A paper towel will work with smaller items. 7. Always write the room the box goes into on the
outside of the box so your movers or helpers can
deposit the boxes without you having to play
traffic cop all day. 8. Write a description of whats in the box so you
can find things easily. If you are using recycled
boxes (always a good idea), tape a sheet of
paper on the outside to make a nice clean
readable label. 9. When packing clothes, sheets, towels and such,
put a plastic garbage bag in the box first, then
place the items in the plastic bag. This works for
pots and pans too. Then you wont have to rewash
them when you unpack. Throw a fabric softener
sheet into the bag of clothes and linens before
you close it up to keep them smelling nice. 10. Pack the items you will need the first night in
separate boxes and label them so you can get to
these things right away without having to go
through 20 boxes trying to find things when
youre already exhausted. 11. Make sure the beds get set up, and other heavy
items are in place. Other things can be moved
around later. 12. Old fashioned as it may be let the guys worry
about the furniture. Take the girls and let them
help you get the cabinets and drawers washed
out and your kitchen set up. Then, once the truck
is empty - everyone can easily sit down, relax,
and have some pizza and beer and conversation. 13. If you packed well, the clothes can go right in the
drawers. The sheets and towels can go right into
the linen closet. Hanging clothes can go right into
the closets. Depending on how ambitious you are,
the entertainment center can be set up and books
put in bookcases. 14. Take a break - the rest can wait for a little while...

stack both while you are packing, and in the truck.
No more spending time trying to figure out how to
get all those different sized boxes stacked so they
wont fall over. 3. Use smaller boxes. Then you wont have big heavy
boxes that will wear you out fast. You, and your
moving team will be able to keep going without
struggling. 4. Use a good quality tape and tape gun. The couple
extra bucks will save you tons of frustration. 5. A couple of wardrobe boxes are always a good
idea. They keep your clothes clean and ready to
hang. Plus, you can throw boots, shoes, and
purses in the bottom. 6. Before wrapping your figures in newspaper, put
them in a plastic shopping bag. It will keep them
clean. A paper towel will work with smaller items. 7. Always write the room the box goes into on the
outside of the box so your movers or helpers can
deposit the boxes without you having to play
traffic cop all day. 8. Write a description of whats in the box so you
can find things easily. If you are using recycled
boxes (always a good idea), tape a sheet of
paper on the outside to make a nice clean
readable label. 9. When packing clothes, sheets, towels and such,
put a plastic garbage bag in the box first, then
place the items in the plastic bag. This works for
pots and pans too. Then you wont have to rewash
them when you unpack. Throw a fabric softener
sheet into the bag of clothes and linens before
you close it up to keep them smelling nice. 10. Pack the items you will need the first night in
separate boxes and label them so you can get to
these things right away without having to go
through 20 boxes trying to find things when
youre already exhausted. 11. Make sure the beds get set up, and other heavy
items are in place. Other things can be moved
around later. 12. Old fashioned as it may be let the guys worry
about the furniture. Take the girls and let them
help you get the cabinets and drawers washed
out and your kitchen set up. Then, once the truck
is empty - everyone can easily sit down, relax,
and have some pizza and beer and conversation. 13. If you packed well, the clothes can go right in the
drawers. The sheets and towels can go right into
the linen closet. Hanging clothes can go right into
the closets. Depending on how ambitious you are,
the entertainment center can be set up and books
put in bookcases. 14. Take a break - the rest can wait for a little while...

All About Grants for College Students
By Michael Carter Grants are a type of student aid that is awarded by the government. Grants for college students do not have to be repaid. Grants are based upon financial need, as calculated by the federal aid program. The first step in applying for government grants is by completing the FAFSA. Of course every student and parent would rather receive grants instead of loans, since they do not have to be repaid. So the student hopes to see a grant award when the results are returned from the application. There are a few things to be aware of, however, when expecting a grant. The funds available for grants are limited, therefore the grant will not usually fully fund educational expenses. If the student is planning on attending a community college where tuition rates are lower, it is possible that grants will cover a greater percentage of the tuition and fees. The second thing to be aware of is that when the need analysis is done by the government or school, the expected contribution of the parent is usually higher than in reality what is possible for most families. This expected contribution effects the amount available to the student for grants. Another significant factor is that if the parent or guardian claims the student as a dependent on income tax returns, this effects the amount of aid available to the student. In general, a student who is 'independent' of the parents as far as the tax law goes, will receive more in financial aid awards. First year students may find that they receive less grant awards than they do in subsequent college years. Michael Carter is a contributor at College Financial Aid Guide, an online informational resource for educational funding, scholarships and student loans. Create Family Website For Free!
By Boshena Warzecha How great would it be to have a family website? Imagine if you could make it a family project with Mum, Dad, Kids, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins contributing! What would you put on a family website: - Family history? -Calendar of upcoming family events? -Photo album? -Family tree? -Birthdays and anniversaries reminders? -Stories of family reunions? -Family diary? I bet you could come up with some more ideas. So, how difficult would it be to create your own family website? It is so much easier than you think. Imagine: -You choose design of your family website from a huge library -You click to where your text should go, and a window open, you write your story, and click save. -Click on the space you want your pictures to go and upload them. -Choose a name of your website and with a click of 1 button upload it to a server. -Write e-mails to all your family and friends with a web address of your new website asking for comments and contributions. How easy was that! The most time that you will spend on your website will be on fun things like choosing the design, photos and writing stories, not learning HTML! The most amazing thing is that apart from hosting fees it do not have to cost you one cent! Few hosting companies will let you build a free website with their software for the privilege of hosting your family website. Take advantage of it, and build your family website now, before you loose any more of your family's precious memories. Boshena owns numerous websites and runs a successful online business. Pre-paid SIM Card Lithuania
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=John_Dulaney]John Dulaney Lithuania is officially known as the Republic of Lithuania and it is country in northern Europe. It is also the largest of the three Baltic State situated on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Latvia is to the north of Lithuania, Belarus is to its southeast, Poland and the Russian exclave Kaliningrad Oblast is towards the southwest. Lithuania, the largest and most populous of the Baltic States has 99 Kilometers of coastline. Its major port is Klaipeda and Main River is the Neman. The Lithuanian landscape is covered with glaciers. Aukstojas Hill at 964 feet from the sea level is more famous. There are also a number of lakes including the Vistytis. The climate is midway between maritime and continental. A member of the European Union since May 1, 2004, the origin of Lithuania dates back to 1009. However, the unification took place in 1236 and people all around the world started referring it as the State of Lithuania. Mindaugas, who was instrumental in the unification, was coroneted officially as the King of this state in 1253. During the first part of the 14th century A.D, Lithuania had occupied Belarus, Ukrine, parts of Poland and Russia. By the end of the 14th century it had become the largest country in Europe having the area from Baltic to Black Sea. Subsequently the Grand Duke Jogaila was crowned the King of Poland and Lithuania and Poland joined in a union. The formal union was however, dissolved in 1401. Again in 1569, Poland and Lithuania got united to form Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth. Lithuania maintained its sovereignty. However, this joint state was dissolved in 1795 with the partition of the Commonwealth. Around 90% territories of Lithuania were annexed in Russian empire and the remaining portion was annexed in Prussia. Lithuania re-established its independence on February 16th, 1918. Later the Parliament opted for a republican form of Government, replacing the existing monarchy. But the country was plagued by territorial disputes with Germany and Poland. During 1940, at the beginning of World War II, Soviet Union occupied and annexed Lithuania in accordance with Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. Later it came under German occupation and around the year 1900, and the Lithuanian Jews were killed during that period. After the defeat of Germany in the World War II, Soviet Union reoccupied Lithuania in 1944. During the soviet occupation around 780,000 people were killed in Siberia from 1944 to 1954. Led by Sajudis, Lithuania claimed its independence once again on March 11, 1990. Russian attempts to suppress the rebellion failed and the last soviet soldier left Lithuania on August 31, 1993. On February 4, 1991, Iceland was the first country to recognise Lithuania as an independent country. Sweden was the first country to open an Embassy in Lithuania. On 31st May, 2001, Lithuania joined the United Nations on 17th September, 1991 and became its 141st member. It was the first Baltic state that applied for NATO membership in 1994 and became a full fledged NATO member on March 29, 2004. Later, on May 1, 2004, it also became a member of the European Union. Valdas Adamkus is the current President of Lithuania. Since independence in 1990, Lithuania continues to be a democracy. Its first general election was held on October 25th, 1992. The constitutional pattern is a semi-presidential system. The President, who is the head of the state, is elected for a term of five years. He appoints the Prime Minister with the approval of the Parliamentary body called the Seimas and on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, nominates other members of the cabinet, civil servants, and judges. Judges of constitutional bench serve for nine years. Nine judges are appointed, three each by the President, Chairman of the Seimas, and the Chairman of the Supreme Court. Lithuanian Parliament is composed of one legislative body and has 141 members elected for a 4 year term, and 71 of them are elected on vote in single constituency and the remaining 70 by nationwide voting. Unless a party receives at least 5% of the national votes, it can not be represented in the Seimas. Administratively, Lithuania is divided in to 10 counties and 60 Municipalities. The 60 Municipalities are further subdivided into 500 elderates. The counties have county governors appointed by the central government. Their domain is national law, program, and policies. Municipalities are either district or city municipalities. Elderates are the smallest unit and provide necessary services to the people close to their homes. They are most active in social sector. Lithuania can be divided into the Aukstaitija or highlands, Samogitia or low lnds, Dzukija, Sudovia, and Lithuania Minor. Before joining the European Union in 2003, Lithuania had the highest economic growth rate at 8.8% per annum. To day it is a member of the World Trade Organisation and the European Union. It has a well developed railways system, airports and four land highways. It has almost full employment since the unemployment rate is only 2.9%. Presently, Litas is the national currency of Lithuania but it is supposed to switch over to Euro by 2009. It has a flat tax rate and the rate of income tax is low at only 24%. The great yard of Vilnius University, and the oldest wooden church at Paluse are places to be visited. Lithuanian language is spoken by 83.5% of the people. There are 6.7% Poles, 6.3% Russians and 1.2% Belarusian in Lithuania. Most Lithuanians can communicate in Russian since they were subjected to long soviet domination. While English is taken as the first foreign language for study, students may opt for Russian, German and Polish languages too. Lithuania has strong Catholic traditions. Around 79% Lithuanians are Roman Catholics. Protestants at 1.9% are clear minorities in Lithuania, while 4.9% of the population belongs to Eastern Orthodoxy. Judaism, Islam and Karaism constitute around 1.6% of the population. Largest cities of Lithuania are Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai, Panevezys, Alytus, Marjampole, Mazeikiai, Jonova, and Utena. These are the days of mobile telephony. A person at a distance is easily reachable from anywhere in the world, without the trouble of running to a telephone booth.. Today, cell phones are a real necessity and no more an item of luxury. You may, therefore, like to take your cell phone to Lithuania when you travel to that country. But simultaneously, you would also be concerned about the expenses involved, which may be quite high, especially when you call internationally to get in touch with your business associates, friends and your family back home. Let us illustrate our point with a couple of examples. Think of those days when cell phone was yet to arrive on the scene and people for communication was dependent on the old land phone and the nearest to the mobile telephony was the cordless phone that could allow you a mobility of a couple of hundreds of meters and no more. People on travel or tour were fairly dependent on the telephone service provided by the hotel. The charges involving both STD and ISD were comparatively higher and there was the service charges claimed in addition by the hotel. More-over, people wanting to get in touch with you just could not, when you were not available in your hotel. They had no other option but to leave a message at the hotel reception. Cell phones brought in the conveniences that we appreciate. However, here too there is one clich. If you have gone on travel abroad, say to Lithuania, and using your cell phone, it will be on the roaming mode. Both incoming calls and outgoing calls will be quite expensive in the system making you uncomfortable. This is no less expensive a proposition compared to the time when you had no other option but to use the telephone in your hotel room. A Lithuanian prepaid SIM card, together with an unlocked GSM cell phone could be the real solution to your problem. Such a phone will not only allow you to have a local Lithuanian cell phone number but also charge your calls at local rates. All your incoming calls are free irrespective of its source of origin. Therefore, for your next trip to Lithuania, make sure to buy a prepaid SIM card for Lithuania. You do not have to sign a contract and you do not receive any bill at the end of the month. When you buy a prepaid SIM card for Lithuania, a small talk time credit is provided along with it. You can renew and replenish the same with recharge vouchers and coupons available in the local stores anywhere in Lithuania. Such cards are available in various denominations so as to allow you purchase one according to your requirements and budget. A SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card is a printed circuit board, a little smaller than a postage stamp. The module goes into a slot at the back of your cell phone as you take off the back cover. The SIM card is the module which renders your cell phone intelligent, and enables you to make and receive calls and send SMS messages to your friends, associates and family back home. It has a microprocessor circuitry with memories and holds your unique information, such as, identifying you as a cell phone service subscriber. It holds your subscription information, your SIM card number, the International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) of your mobile phone and other security details. As you switch on your cell phone, the information is transmitted to the local network of the city that you are visiting abroad. This is then matched with the database information of the Foreign Service provider and matched. If the information matches, your cell phone is logged in the network and you are now ready to use your cell phone to make and receive calls. The SIM card also holds your address book, where you can store the names and telephone numbers of the people you often get in touch with. All your incoming and outgoing call numbers are logged in the memory of the SIM card, which are displayed to you along with the respective time and date of the calls.

If you have a GSM phone, it is very likely that it will not operate in that country, unless you have a multi-frequency cell phone with you. The networks in Lithuania operate on 900MHz and 1800MHz GSM frequency bands, where-as, networks in North America, Canada and a few countries in the Americas operate on 850MHz and 1900 MHz GSM frequency bands. Therefore, with the mismatch of your cell phone frequency bands with that of the networks in Lithuania, your GSM phone will not work in that country. . The world over, use different GSM frequency bands compared to the ones used in North America, Canada and few of the neighbouring countries, and in effect this what sets a part these countries from the rest of the world. In order to facilitate the use of cell phones universally, there are three types of such phones available in the world market. The Quad-band phone complies with all GSM bandwidths and would work in any of the GSM country in the world. The Tri-band is compatible with 800MHz, 900MHz and 1800MHz frequency bands, and operates in most part of the GSM region, while the Dual-band responds to 800MHz and 1900MHz GSM frequency bands. If you are a frequent traveller, you may consider buying a compatible cell phone which would work in the countries that you visit. If you are not so frequent a traveller, it is economical for you to rent a phone which will match the frequency bands with the networks of the country that you are visiting. This new digital technology that was initiated in Europe as the second generation or 2G system was devised as a replacement to the old day 1G analog system. Today, as many as 214 countries have adopted the technology and under it they cover around 80% of the mobile customers in the world. It may not be out of place to mention here that bandwidth frequency would be varying with the variation in global GSM regions. Geographical divergences will cause divergence of bandwidth frequency. But the GSM facility even at the worst allows roaming facilities that cater to the problem to some extent, though it is a costly proposition. While traveling to Lithuania or for that matter to any foreign country with your cell phone, just do not forget to make it SIM unlocked. If you buy or rent one also you must see that the cell phone you are procuring is SIM unlocked. Otherwise you may not be able to use the phone for the purpose you have bought it. The accepted pattern is that you enter into a contract with your service provider when you purchase a new cell phone. You become bound to use the services of your provider for a specific period. The cell phone comes to you free of cost and becomes yours at the end of the contract period. During that period your phone remains SIM locked and you cannot use your phone with any other SIM card except the one that you have received from your service provider. However, on termination of the contract the provider makes your phone SIM unlocked and you are now free to obtain any SIM card for your phone For proper use of your cell phone at Lithuania, it must be compatible with the bandwidth frequency there and it must be SIM unlocked. What Every Woman Should Know About Men and Why Some Men Are Interesting - Part 1
By Ed Bagley Some men say they cannot live with women and they cannot live without women. I think they mean they do not understand women. I choose to celebrate women as a necessary and wonderful addition to a man's world and would rate women as the third most important gift from my maker God, who happens to be a man and not a woman. I choose to not be confused by women who insist that God is a woman and not a man; their lack of perception on this matter is entirely their problem and shall remain so. Women are God's third most important gift, following the gift of life and the gift of free will. Without the gift of life all would be null and void and this explanation meaningless. Without the gift of free will a man would not be able to make choices and decisions and thus would be rendered useless both to him and her. Since women are a necessary and wonderful addition to a man's world here are 14 things that every woman should know about men and why some men are more interesting than others. A Man's Five Basic Jobs Just as a man has five fingers on his left hand there are five jobs his analytical mind tells him he must do: 1) Defend his loved ones. A man is the first responder to any unexpected threats to his loved ones. That means putting his life on the line if necessary. He is bigger, stronger and more aggressive than those he loves and will fight dearly to keep them safe. 2) Protect his loved ones. A man protects his loved ones from any perceived threats. He is street smart, he sees trouble coming and keeps his family out of harms way. 3) Provide for his loved ones. A man figures out a way to generate income either working for others or making his own way in the world. He supplies the basic needs for his familyfood, shelter, clothing and transportation. 4) Encourage his loved ones. A man must be the lighthouse in stormy times of crisis and challenge. His job is to be stable, sensible, resourceful and ready to encourage his family through tough times. He must put on a brave face and have a big heart when compassion and understanding are needed. He understands that the way to overcome fear is to take action despite the danger or risk in doing so. 5) Lead his loved ones. A man must be the leader for his loved ones in several critical areas: Generating Income. He should be the main source of providing for the basic needs of the family. Handling Discipline. He should realize and act when his loved ones need to toe the mark. Improving His Knowledge and Skills. He should use education and training to get on in the world. Developing Spiritual Growth. He needs to recognize a greater power than himself so that when he is no longer there to provide and to comfort his family they are not alone in the world. Developing Personal Growth. He needs not only the professional growth that education and training can help provide, but he also needs personal growth. He needs to be able to change his thought process, belief system and core being so that he is not the same bigoted person that he was 40 years ago. Providing Recreational Opportunities. He should provide fun, family activities for his loved ones so the challenge of simply performing our daily responsibilities does not become onerous. Being a Role Model. He should become a role model for behavior, values, ethics and morals that is worth emulating. If a man had only his left hand and only lived with his left hand he would indeed be an incredible creature when fulfilling the five jobs his analytical mind tells him he must do. Unsecured Loan: A Popular Option to Meet Your Desires
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=John_Carry]John Carry Unsecured loans are great medium to meet your needs when your financial status is not supporting you. They are widely popular among the masses as they are offered without any collateral to the lender and anyone can opt for it. However, absence of security asset is very risky for the lender if you fail to repay the amount. Unsecured loan is a great prospect for tenants because they do not have any valuable asset to offer but at the same time, homeowners can also seek for it, if they do not want to risk their home. You can use this loan for your multiple requirements for example you can renovate your home, buy a car, go out for a vacation, and spend it for wedding expenditure etc. However, it is not so easy to obtain an [http://www.online-unsecured-loans.co.uk/unsecured-loan.html ]unsecured loan. Your credit record and current financial status play a crucial loan to help you to get the loan. Lender may create tantrums to offer you the loan if your credit past does not impress him. Besides this, in order to safeguard his money he charges high interest rate and heavy monthly instalments. He restricts your borrowing and you are liable to repay the entire amount in a short repayment time. The approval of the unsecured loan is fast and speedy due to less paper work. An intense competition in the market among lenders makes it confusing to take a decision about the right lender but at the same time, it is advantageous. The Future of Mobile Phones / Cellphones
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Stuart_Oliver]Stuart Oliver Just recently Ipsos released the findings of their study "The face of the web." We learn that 28% of all mobile users have used their mobile to access the internet, 52% have sent a text message and 36% have sent or received email. Mobile penetration across the globe is (relatively) high, apart from the US and Canada where ownership by household is 75% and 60% respectively. In east Asia this figure is over 90% and Western Europe 80%. Furthermore there is a correlation between those who access the internet and those that own a mobile. This week we have the announcement that Paypal is to start a [http://business.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,9558-2150890,00.html]mobile payment service. This means that 105 million Paypal subscribers will now be able to [a] purchase and [b] send money to other using their mobile - instantly. This is a powerful offering.

Why can't recruitment agencies automatically send me a text message when they have a vacancy that fits my profile? Why can't delivery companies send me a text message with the status of my international shipment? Why can't I send a text message to order a cab and it will come and pick me up from wherever I am (read wherever my mobile is)? Why don't Canadian schools send a mass text message to all parents when a "snow day" is declared and school is off? History Reports: When Your Resume Equals, "I Did This, I Did This, I Did This"
By Steven Bristow Do these sound familiar? I worked for
My responsibilities were
My duties included Does a prospective employer care about what you did for other companies? Of course they do, but that doesnt mean thats what they really want to know. Conducting a job search is a marketing campaign, moreover, a sales process, not your personal history lesson. Do you consider obtaining a position a sales process? If not, you should.
There are many ways to make a sale but all of them include a marketing campaign. Your resume is your marketing tool. It is your most important marketing tool. Make sure your marketing tools reflect what you bring to a company, not what you once brought to other companies. Does a hiring manager care about what your duties were in a position you had 10 years ago? Maybe, if they are associated with a position you are seeking. Is a hiring manager more concerned with your abilities to handle the duties of their open position? You betcha! Any professional marketer or salesman will tell you that building value is key when conducting a sale. How do I build value in a resume?, you may be asking. When it comes to a resume, there are several ways. Certainly you want to include prior responsibilities, but you may also want to expound on them as well (assuming that they are applicable to the position you are applying for). List the duties and responsibilities of applicable positions Showcase successes with each of these duties. Because of your efforts, did revenue increase? Did profitability? Did your efforts result in streamlining costs? Did you save your prior company money? Articulate an ability to continue these successes with your next company. Show your next employer that you will excel at the position before they determine if you will. Remember, you are marketing yourself to these hiring managers, not just telling them what you have done. The concept of an effective resume is to look at it from a readers point of view, not a writers point of view. Does a prospective employer care about what youve done for others? Or what you can do for them? Steven Bristow is a senior consultant for R.L. Stevens & Associates Inc. (http://www.interviewing.com), a career marketing firm and organization celebrating over 24 years of providing strategic marketing solutions for its clients career transitioning needs. How is Hydroponic Gardening Different from Regular Gardening?
By Tony Buel When growing hydroponics, there are a vast variety of growing mediums that may be used. The mediums include materials, including perlite, vermiculite, coconut fiber, gravel, sand, or any number of other materials. Even air may be used as a hydroponic growing medium. The hydroponic growing medium is an inert substance that does not supply any nutrition to the plants. All of the nutrition comes from the nutrient solution, typically combining water and fertilizer. Hydroponic fertilizer and fertilizer intended for use in soil (regular fertilizer) contain the three main nutrients. These nutrients are nitrogen, Phosphorus, and potassium. The main difference between hydroponic fertilizer and dirt fertilizer is that hydroponic gardening fertilizers contain the proper amounts of all of the essential micro-nutrients that regular fertilizers do not include. The plants are expected to find these elements in the soil. Problems may arise for the plants if any or all of the micro-nutrients are not present in the soil or have been depleted by successive or excessive plantings. Hydroponic gardening fertilizers are usually in a more pure form than are regular fertilizers so they are more stable and water-soluble. Organic fertilizers are typically very different than either the hydroponic fertilizers or the dirt fertilizers in how the deliver nutrients to the plants. The organic fertilizers rely on the action of bacteria and microbes to help break down the material into its basic elements so the plant can easily use it. Hydroponic and regular fertilizers then supply the plants with these elements. Another difference between hydroponic and regular gardening is that growing hydroponics can be extremely complicated. Hydroponics are controlled with computers and sensors which help control everything from watering cycles to nutrient strength, and the amount of light the plants receive. However, hydroponics can also be very simple. The average home hydroponic system usually consists of a few basic parts, including a growing tray, a reservoir, a timer controlled submersible pump to water the plants, and an air pump to oxygenate the nutrient solution. Light is, of course, also required to help the hydroponic garden to grow. There are also micro-nutrients that are required for healthy plant growth. These micro-nutrients include calcium, sulfur, magnesium, boron, cobalt, iron, copper, manganese, zinc, and molybdenum. These nutrients are the essential elements that plants need in very small amounts. Plants are likely to become sick without these trace elements and will develop all sorts of problems depending on which nutrient is missing. The lack of micro-nutrients in food crops can mean a lack of nutrients in the food. This will result in the food not being as healthy as it could be and potentially lead people to develop health problems due to the lack of these essential elements. Any hydroponic gardener needs to use a good quality hydroponic fertilizer when they are growing plants using hydroponics. It is also vital that the pH is controlled in both growing hydroponics and in the soil as well. Plants lose the ability to absorb different nutrients when the pH varies. The pH must be monitored during the entire growth cycle of the plants to maintain the maximum healthy uptake of nutrients. The pH of the nutrient solution will affect how well each element can pass through the root cell wall to nourish the plant. Once the gardener has properly calibrated the fertilizer concentrations and the pH of that solution, they can generally assume it will stay steady barring any unforeseen root disease. Gardeners should always monitor their system too much rather than too little to avoid any problems. The ability to quickly and easily test and control pH in hydroponics is a major advantage over regular gardening, where testing and adjusting the pH is much more complicated and time consuming. Hydroponic Gardening can be a fun and productive new way of gardening for you. We have tips and resources to get you started fast! Skincare - A Foundation for Beauty
By Mary Pelling In my role as a beauty consultant I am constantly surprised by the number of people who, when asked about their skincare routine, simply don't have one! If more people followed the basic skincare routine I have laid out below, there would be less people who need to seek specialist advice for, for example, a special occasion such as a wedding, party, or even just for day-to-day skincare issues. I usually like to have an initial consultation with a bride at least six months before her wedding for that very reason - if there are lots of skincare issues to be addressed, it can take some time to achieve the glowing complexion they are looking for. And I also think that the run-up to a wedding (which can be as long as you like!) is a great excuse to pamper yourself! There is a saying -"It takes 21-30 days to develop a habit". If you set yourself a goal of performing a basic skincare routine for 21-30 days, at the end of that time you will find it has become second nature and will be quite hard to break. I have outlined below a simple routine which, once established, takes only a few minutes each day: Daily: Cleanse, tone and moisturise twice daily, morning and night. You should be doing this already, but if you are not you will see and feel a difference very quickly. There are also many supplemental products available which you can use for an extra moisture boost if your skin is dry or for spot treatments if the need is there. If you have dark circles under the eyes, it is worth investing in a good eye cream. Also, drinking more water will help to plump up the skin cells and reduce the darkness under the eyes. Weekly: Exfoliate once/twice a week with an exfoliator containing microscopic polishing beads, not crushed kernels or similar as these can scratch the surface of the skin and may cause inflammation/infection in susceptible individuals, e.g. those with sensitive skin. Apply a face masque once/twice a week (on a different day to exfoliating) with either a hydrating or a deep cleansing masque, depending on your skin type or current needs. I always recommend keeping both kinds of masque so that if your skin feels like it needs a thorough cleanse you can use the deep cleansing, but if it has a day where it feels dry you can use a hydrating masque for an extra moisture boost. Monthly: A monthly facial is good but NOT in the week before a wedding or special event. A facial will bring out the impurities in your skin and you don't want to be fighting off spots and blemishes when you have a big occasion coming up! You will probably feel stressed enough in the run-up to the occasion without having spotty skin to deal with as well! AND FINALLY ... Don't forget your lips - when you brush your teeth, rub your toothbrush (without toothpaste!) GENTLY over your lips to remove any dry/flaky skin, then apply lipsalve or Vaseline. Once you have established your skincare routine and can see the improvement in your skin, you can start to think about the make-up you want to apply to your newly glowing complexion! I feel another article coming on! Mary Pelling works with Artistic Beauty, a team of beauty and make-up consultants dedicated to giving a first class professional service to their clients in the comfort of their own home; specialists in beauty consultations including everyday, special occasion and bridal skincare and make-up. They cover a wide area of South-East England and the West Midlands.
